Wine Tasting, Bath | One Day Wine Course

This fun, hands-on Saturday wine course has been specially geared to broaden your knowledge of the world of wine, boost your confidence and most importantly increase your enjoyment of wine and wine tasting.

The wine course is suitable for absolutely anyone who enjoys wine and wants to learn more, with no previous experience necessary! We aim for you to leave this wine course with increased knowledge and confidence that we hope will inspire you to try new and interesting wines and make better-informed buying decisions in future.

Two tasting sessions will be split with a delicious two-course lunch at the highly acclaimed Chequers.

Over the day together we’ll sample 12 quality wines from around the world, ‘blind’ tasting as we go to help focus on the contents of the glass without pre-judgement of your favourite grape, style or region.

The course will include and cover the fundamentals of:

- How to taste like a professional

- How to spot a fault

- How to understand wine labels & select wine more confidently

 - Classic grape varieties and major wine producing regions

- The impact of climate and production techniques on style

- Old World Vs. New World

- Food & wine matching

- Ageing potential - and plenty more besides...

"I'd always viewed wine tastings as fairly stuffy, pretentious affairs - where I was made to feel out of my depth. My Bristol Wine School experience was completely different. Our host for the day was approachable, knowledgeable, friendly and enthusiastic. From the outset it was clear that the course catered for all. The small group atmosphere was relaxed and meant that we were free to ask questions and get a real, broad understanding of the different wines and where they came from... I will definitely be recommending this to friends!"

"Some much deserved and extremely positive feedback on the excellent one day wine tasting course at Great Western Wine. Our tutors natural style was engaging, informative, enthusiastic and infectious (in a great way). The pace of the day was just right. Samples were generous, opinions were honest, and the food matching was particularly well planned and thought through. All in all we had great fun, tasted some fantastic wines all in the company of like-minded individuals and a real expert - thank you!"

You will be given an option to select your purchase as a gift in our checkout area, we will then send you a gift certificate by email or post to present to your guest.
